ABOUT THE POSITION.
The Environmental Coordinator plays a key role in supporting compliance with environmental legislation, standards, and regulations across the company's operations. You will assist in implementing and monitoring the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) while promoting a culture of environmental responsibility among all project teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the sustainable delivery of major civil construction projects.
DUTIES.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Environmental Management System (EMS).
* Monitor site environmental performance to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
* Provide advice and training to site personnel on environmental requirements and best practices
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring activities
* Report, investigate, and assist in resolving environmental non-conformances
* Assist in preparing environmental documentation, reports, and permit applications
* Liaise with project teams, regulators, and stakeholders on environmental matters
* Promote continual improvement and environmental awareness across all levels of the organisation
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering
* Demonstrated experience in the environmental or construction industry
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
* Experience in negotiation and conflict management is desirable
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to maintain computerised information systems
* Blue Book training or equivalent is advantageous
* Current and valid NSW Driver's Licence
* Understanding of the civil construction industry will be highly regarded
