The Technical Operator – Lighting assists the Head Technical Operator in implementing lighting requirements for touring shows, productions and events, including follow‐spot, floor lighting, moving lights and general lighting duties.
Responsibilities
* Manual handling and lifting of lighting equipment during bump‐in and bump‐out of shows and in show mode.
* Assist in maintenance of theatre lighting systems and environment as directed by the Head of Lighting.
* Contribute to the lighting‐technical planning process to ensure the venue meets artistic and business needs; operate venue lighting technical systems where appropriate to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
* Act in key lighting roles under the direction of the Head of Lighting for touring shows, productions and events; cover absenteeism, short notice and annual leave.
* Work with external and internal stakeholders, suppliers and production companies to ensure lighting technical aspects of all theatre events are delivered on time and within budgets.
* Assist with bump‐in and bump‐out of shows, and act in key lighting roles during show mode as required.
* Ensure staff, contractors and visitors are inducted to the venue with relevant training and comply with health and safety regulations, policies and procedures while on site.
* Maintain up‐to‐date and valid training and certification.
