Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the school's administrative, financial, and human resources functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business operations and be able to manage a team effectively.
Detailed reports and advice will be provided to senior management on matters related to school finance, human resources, and administration.
Responsibilities
* School Publications: Manage the design and production of school publications and documents.
* Financial Management: Manage and direct the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial statements. Contribute to the financial decision-making process of the school.
* Funding Submissions: Prepare funding submissions for the leadership team and school council.
* Accounting Processes: Direct the accounting processes of the school. Ensure that all funds, including school investments, are effectively accounted for according to Treasury regulations.
* Financial Advice: Provide advice to staff on spending against budget in respect to faculties, programs, and other school projects.
* Government Grants: Administer government grants and other school income.
* Fundraising: Manage fund-raising activities.
* Administrative Support: Ensure the provision of a range of administrative support functions for the Principal and teaching staff.
* External Services: Provide administrative support to external service providers as required.
* Student Admissions: Manage the processing of student admissions, registrations, enrolments, and transfers.
* Events and Functions: Provide required levels of administrative support for school events, functions, and projects.
* Induction Programs: Implement induction programs for new staff, volunteers, and other workers to the school.
* Development Programs: Research, plan, and prepare development programs for support staff.
* Recruitment Procedures: Manage recruitment procedures.
* Human Resource Planning: Assist in the development of work practices that ensure appropriate occupational health and safety standards are maintained.
* Employee Relations: Manage procedures relating to employee relations issues.
* Support Structures: Provide authoritative advice to the leadership team on support structures and work practices.
* Facilities Management: Coordinate the use and maintenance of school buildings and equipment.
* Service Providers: Liaise and negotiate with service providers in respect to the cost and quality of services.
* Contracted Services: Supervise the delivery of contracted services.
* Resource Material: Manage the development and collection of resource material at the school.
* Operational Efficiency: Draft reports and make recommendations on operational issues.
* Computer Systems: Evaluate and report on the operational efficiency of computer systems in production, making recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
* Work Practices: Develop techniques and procedures that will affect work practices beyond the workplace.
* Technical Program: Manage a technical program with a broad scope across the school.
