Pialligo Estate is a wedding and events venue, including a winery, established orchard, open fields, and landscaped grounds spanning over 12 hectares. The property blends agriculture with hospitality, and we take pride in maintaining beautiful, productive land year-round. We're looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced Groundskeeper to keep the property looking at its best.
Position Overview
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, fields, and surrounding property areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining agricultural and landscaped environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Mowing and maintaining lawns, paddocks, and field areas
* Maintaining vineyard and orchard surroundings (weed control, trimming, irrigation checks), and managing specalised trades to assist when required
* Tree and hedge trimming, pruning
* General landscaping and property upkeep
* Operating and maintaining equipment such as mowers, trimmers and other machinery
* Maintaining paths, fences, irrigation systems, and outdoor structures
* Assisting with seasonal agricultural tasks when needed
* Keeping grounds tidy and presentation ready for visitors and events
* Managing on-site labourers and trades when required
Requirements
* Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, farming, or similar outdoor work essential
* Horticulture qualification preferred
* Comfortable operating landscaping or agricultural equipment
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Physically capable of outdoor work in varying weather conditions
* Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, pruning, and property maintenance
* Valid driver's licence
* Experience working around vineyards or orchards
* Tractor or small machinery operation
* Basic equipment maintenance and repairs
