Who we are looking for
To teach in a Western Australian public school, you must have a recognised, completed initial teacher education qualification.
This may be a completed Bachelor of Education, or equivalent; or an undergraduate degree and a post-graduate teaching qualification.
Eligibility and training
Applicants are required to:
Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
Complete the Department's Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
Complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement; and
Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

Job duties
Delivering curriculum using a range of teaching techniques
Encouraging and developing students' interests and abilities through creative activities
Guiding discussions and supervising work in class
Preparing, administering and marking tests, projects and assignments to evaluate students' progress and recording the results
Providing feedback on progress to students and parents
Behaviour management in all areas of the school
Attendance at and participation in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops
Maintaining class and scholastic records
Participation in extra-curricular tasks, e.g. sport, school concerts, excursions and special interest programs
Supervising student teachers as required
Our teachers undertake their duties in line with the School Education Act 1999.
