A well-established, globally respected engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team based in the northern suburbs of Perth.
With over 30 years of international project delivery experience, this organisation is a leader in the design of slurry and water pipeline transportation systems, backfill plants, and dewatering systems. The Opportunity
The successful candidate will join a local engineering team that is part of a global network of offices. They will be responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery-from concept and design through to commissioning-across a range of mining and resources infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical/pipeline projects across slurry, hydrohoisting, and backfill systems
Develop and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, 3D models, and plant layouts
Conduct hydraulic analyses and prepare technical documentation
Provide site support during construction and commissioning phases
Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Project Management
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and project schedules
Lead subcontractor selection and oversee project execution
Track project issues, risks, and variations to maintain project accuracy
Client Engagement
Attend client meetings and conduct site visits
Maintain and grow client relationships by delivering high-quality technical solutions
Identify opportunities to add value or optimise client operations
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians
Oversee drawing production and ensure alignment with engineering requirements
Support technical development within the team
Candidate Profile
Required:
Experience in the design and calculations of slurry pipelines or long-distance water pipelines is essential
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Extensive Australian experience in pipeline/backfill systems design
Familiarity with slurry transport and backfill systems
Experience with CAD drafting/model review
Strong project management capabilities and ability to lead complex projects
High-level computer literacy (MS Office and engineering design tools)
Full Australian working rights
Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexibly if required
