Yulinbal is an independent school that aims to offer all eligible young people the chance to complete their school education. We especially aim to include those whose lives may be complicated, challenging or require a particular understanding to achieve success.
Primary Purpose of Role
The Bus driver is a vital member of the team.
The College is seeking to secure an experienced and qualified bus driver to join its transport team for morning and afternoon school bus runs in school terms.
This position is for a maximum of 25 hours per week and is split shift. ONLY DURING SCHOOL TERM .Extra hours may be available for additional events
This opportunity is to commence 19th January 2026 for onboarding then driving commences beginning of Term ,five days per week.
The successful applicant must possess a strong work ethic, experience in guiding children and a proven ability to think and work independently. A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence is essential, and a Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence is desirable.
The successful applicant must hold a NSW Working with Children Check and fully support the ethos of the College.
Key accountabilities
• Transport students daily to and from home, excursions or to and from appointments as directed, in accordance with our code of practice
• Support information collection processes to allow others to evaluate and feedback on school-based wellbeing programs and strategies
• Support the implementation of departmental student wellbeing priorities, whole-school wellbeing programs and build positive community relations
Key challenges
• Understand the impact of child and adolescent development, mental health, cultural identity, and gender diversity on student wellbeing, while maintaining empathy, reserving judgement and respecting student privacy
• Work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the school community to provide timely and appropriate support.
Essential requirements:
* Current Drivers licence with Light Rigid and Medium Rigid Licence or willing to obtain prior to commencement. The school has 12 and 24 seater buses.
* Commitment to our inclusive wellbeing policies
* Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
* First Aid certification or willing to obtain
* Understanding of children at risk
This is non-teaching school based position.
Bus drivers and general assistants are remunerated for school terms but where projects are scheduled and participation approved during non term time, may choose to work all year.
