Great Pacific Gold is seeking a highly capable and driven Senior Exploration Geologist to support and help lead exploration activities across our flagship projects in Papua New Guinea, including the Wild Dog Project and Kesar.
This is a key technical role within a fast-moving exploration environment, working across a district-scale gold–copper system with both epithermal and porphyry potential. The successful candidate will play a central role in advancing high-priority targets from concept through to drilling, while contributing to the broader geological understanding of a rapidly evolving project portfolio.
Senior Geologist - Exploration Expat
Location: Papua New Guinea (East New Britain & Eastern Highlands)
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the planning, execution, and interpretation of exploration programs across multiple prospects and targets
* Support the development and refinement of geological models within a district-scale epithermal–porphyry system
* Lead and mentor field teams, ensuring high standards in mapping, sampling, logging, and data collection
* Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets to generate and prioritise drill targets
* Assist in the design, supervision, and interpretation of diamond and RC drilling programs
* Ensure data quality, QAQC compliance, and timely reporting to support technical and corporate deliverables
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including geophysics, community relations, and operations to ensure coordinated execution
* Maintain strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and operational discipline in remote field settings
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 10+ years' experience in mineral exploration, with a strong focus on epithermal gold and porphyry copper–gold systems
* Demonstrated experience in target generation, drill program design, and geological interpretation
* Prior experience working in remote or international (expatriate) environments strongly preferred
* Strong technical capability across structural geology, alteration systems, and mineralisation controls
* Experience integrating multi-disciplinary datasets (geophysics, geochemistry, mapping) into coherent models
* Proven ability to operate independently while contributing to a broader team environment
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts and results
