The Senior Process Designer is responsible for leading process design activities for one or more transformation streams, translating process architecture direction into high‐quality, detailed process models. This role acts as the day‐to‐day lead for process designers within a stream, ensuring consistent application of standards, quality outcomes, and timely delivery.
The Senior Process Designer works closely with the Senior Process Architect, business SMEs, and delivery teams, and plays a key role in coaching and managing other process designers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead process design and modelling activities for assigned transformation streams.
* Plan and manage process design work across the stream, including prioritisation and sequencing.
* Act as the primary process design contact for stream leads and business stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain L3–L5 process models aligned to approved L2 architecture and enterprise standards.
* Facilitate workshops with business SMEs to document current‐state and design future‐state processes.
* Ensure process models include required metadata (ownership, systems, risks, controls, measures).
Quality Assurance & Governance
* Ensure all process artefacts meet modelling standards, naming conventions, and quality expectations.
* Review and assure work produced by Process Designers within the stream.
* Support change control and contribution of approved models back to the Single Source of Truth.
Coaching & Mentoring
* Provide hands‐on coaching and guidance to Process Designers.
* Support capability uplift through reviews, feedback, and on‐the‐job learning.
* Promote consistent use of tools, templates, and methods.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Translate process designs into clear narratives and visuals for project teams and stakeholders.
* Support presentations and walkthroughs with senior stakeholders when required.
Skills & Experience
* 5+ years' experience in process design, BPM, or process improvement roles.
* Experience leading process design activities within a project or workstream.
* Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience using process modelling tools (e.g. Signavio, ARIS, Visio).
* Experience working on large transformation programs.
* Exposure to risk and control mapping within process models.
* Experience coaching or reviewing the work of other process designers.
