Job Description
Advanced Aqua Blasting offer a diverse range of services in abrasive blasting and protective coatings, including Denso corrosion protection and water blasting, in the North Queensland Region. For specialised projects further afield, we can provide fly-in fly-out services as required. AAB hold EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) licences to perform abrasive blasting, protective coating application and regulated waste transport.
Our team operate from Mackay in the south, to Torres Strait in the north, and west to the Mount Isa border region and beyond. Our workshop at 32 Challands Street, Ingham, also holds Environmental Licences for abrasive blasting and protective coating, from the local authority, Hinchinbrook Shire Council. We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Painters to join our team of professionals on a full-time and permanent basis.
To be considered for the Role, applicants must: At least 3 years' experience Have an understanding of surface preparation and finishes
Be able to understand and complete works to specifications Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces Be able to operate a variety of equipment, including blast pots, spray guns, rotor stator pumps and dry spray pumps – both safely and environmentally friendly
Mixing paint / coatings to desired colour and consistency Able to apply all types of coatings (ie epoxy, polyurethane) using various application methods Select paints, varnishes and stains to various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers
Understand the use of Wet Film Thickness Gauges and be able to achieve specified dry film thickness. Erecting scaffolding and ladders. Cleaning equipment and work areas.
Must have great work ethics and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment Desirable traits and will highly be regarded: Trade Certificate –Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent (for Blaster/Painters)
Construction Induction (White or Blue Card) High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs)
