The Opportunity
Reporting to the Partner, Portfolio Solutions & Responsible Investing, you'll be a key part of Mutual Trust's Investment Solutions team, supporting the delivery and continued growth of our Responsible Investment (RI) offering.
This role is hands-on and investment focused.
You'll help form RI views across the Approved Product List (APL), contribute to RI portfolio implementation and reporting, support RI compliance obligations for client portfolios, and provide research and insights to advisers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible investment views across the APL: Support the undertaking of responsible investment views, including sustainability and ESG analysis, encompassing all asset classes (listed and unlisted).
Portfolio screening and monitoring: Regularly upload fund holdings using ESG data providers to screen portfolios.
RI communications – Document and present views on RI investments, including insight reports on direct equity holdings.
RI model portfolio support: Produce high-quality reconciliation, performance and risk reporting for a multi-asset model portfolio and support implementation and rebalancing activities.
RI compliance support: Assist with annual reviews for client portfolios and help advisers document RI preferences and screening requirements in investment policy materials.
Internal stakeholder support: Provide clear, concise insights to support advisor queries, proposals and internal discussions (with scope to build presentation confidence over time).
About You
You're analytical and detail-driven, with a genuine interest in how investment portfolios can align with responsible investment objectives.
You're confident working across all asset classes, comfortable with hands-on reporting/reconciliation work, and enjoy communicating clear, practical insights to stakeholders.
You have:
A finance-related degree (CFA/CIPM and/or ESG/sustainability study highly regarded).
3+ years' experience in an investment-analysis related role (e.g., equities, funds management, portfolio reporting, wealth advisory, fund research).
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and high attention to detail.
A strong foundation in financial markets and portfolio/investment strategy, with an interest in building breadth across asset classes.
Comfort working with RI/ESG data and screening tools (or strong interest in learning), including look-through holdings and monitoring outputs.
Excellent writing skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
