Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, Thyme's menu has been created by well‑known Melbourne chef, restauranteur, cookbook author and television presenter, Karen Martini – showcasing locally sourced, seasonal produce served alongside excellent coffee, herbal tea blends, local cold‑pressed juices and signature cocktails.
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will bring strong technical expertise, leadership, and creativity to support the preparation and delivery of exceptional service within our fast‑paced kitchen.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily food preparation, production and implementation of menus
* Maintain the highest standards of quality, freshness and presentation, ensuring all food preparation complies with regulatory requirements
* Work collaboratively to coordinate daily food requirements, considering delivery schedules, shelf life and storage capabilities
* Perform administrative tasks, including stock control, equipment checks and purchase orders
* Train, mentor and support chefs and kitchen hands
* Foster a positive work place culture where learning and continuous improvement are encouraged
* Communicate effectively and positively with FOH staff to ensure seamless service.
This position is available for an immediate start – a wonderful opportunity for a motivated and skilled leader ready to make a meaningful impact.
We will provide flexibility with days and hours across a rotational roster. Night and weekend availability a must.
