Berri Barmera Council is seeking a strategic and community‑minded Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance and ICT functions. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the financial sustainability and digital transformation of a progressive regional council committed to enhancing liveability and enterprise.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will provide high‑level financial governance, strategic planning, and operational leadership across finance and ICT. The role will also contribute to major decision‑making, long‑term planning, and service delivery excellence, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Council’s financial strategy, governance, and statutory compliance
* Oversee ICT systems and drive innovation in service delivery
* Provide strategic advice and deputise for the CEO when required
* Manage financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, and asset planning
* Foster a high‑performance culture and support professional development
About You
You are a CPA or CA‑qualified finance leader with extensive experience in complex service organisations, ideally within Local Government. You bring strong strategic thinking, people leadership, and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence across diverse stakeholders. Your knowledge of financial legislation, ICT strategy, and risk management will be key to your success.
