Senior Project Manager
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
This role requires significant project management experience, including that of battery energy storage systems, to ensure successful delivery of not only this first project but subsequent projects which will include further battery energy storage systems and solar farms.
The company is pursuing a technology-driven decarbonization strategy that focuses on investments in renewable energy assets and new energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establishing project governance systems and processes to manage project tasks and timeframes of project teams, external consultants, and contractors.
* Participating in pre-contracts, commercial, and procurement activities for battery energy storage system projects, including EPC RFPs, tender management, technical specification negotiations, scope definition, and head terms.
* Managing the design and execution of all project packages including engineering, civil, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, SCADA, and ancillary services.
* Ensuring adherence to project implementation plans, identifying issues and bottlenecks, and mitigating the impact of project challenges.
* Leading end-to-end project delivery, including setting up multidisciplinary project teams, onboarding and managing contractors, owner's engineers, NSPs, government authorities, suppliers, and 3rd party consultants via active contract management.
* Overseeing all construction management activities, including progress monitoring, planning, and reporting, CAPEX budget control.
* Ensuring integration of project and contract management to ensure cohesive project delivery according to contractual terms.
* Delivering stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation with government and other stakeholders to reach grid compliance, capacity levels, and availability requirements up to provisional acceptance and handover.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification in a technical, engineering, or project management field.
* Substantial previous experience in project management for the construction of renewable energy and electrical infrastructure assets, including battery energy storage assets.
* Advanced project management skills, preferably with pre-contracts involvement.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Adept at problem identification and resolution.
* Experience with project management-related tools.
* Experience with HSEQ, risk management, and contract management.
* An understanding of energy use and energy markets.
* Excellent time management and organization skills.
* Proactive with high levels of initiative.
* Collaborative team player.
* Current driver's license.
* Willingness to travel regionally and interstate.
* Australian citizen or permanent resident.
