Concept Eight
Posted: 25 May
Offer description

Concept Eight is one of Australia's leading multi-brand franchisors, with over 150 restaurants across multiple brands including Noodle Box, Wokinabox, Acai Brothers, Huxtaburger, and Supreme Leader - to name a few!.

With 30 years of QSR experience, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering an all-inclusive, positive work environment.

Our purpose: "To enable the dreams and aspirations of our Franchise Partners."

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Construction Development team. Working closely with our Head of Construction you'll take ownership of construction and fit-out projects across our entire brand portfolio — from new restaurant openings to refurbishments and equipment rollouts.

This is a hands‐on, high-variety role for someone who thrives across multiple simultaneous projects and knows how to keep stakeholders informed, contractors on track, and budgets honest.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead project management across restaurant refurbishments, new equipment rollouts, feasibility studies, tendering, internal approvals, and stakeholder engagement.

Coordinate handover processes for new restaurant openings and refurbishment projects, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operations.

Manage building contractors, sub‐contractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle, including post‐opening warranty management, defect rectification, and cost analysis.

Ensure all documentation reflects stakeholder requirements, building codes, local authority requirements, WH&S obligations, planning approvals, and Concept Eight policy.

Drive project budgeting and cost control across new builds and remodel projects, with clear reporting and accountability.

Consult with external consultants during the acquisition phase of each project, including interaction with acquisition managers.

Liaise with architects and external consultants (planners, engineers, etc.) regarding layout requirements, updates, and revisions.

Consult with franchisee and corporate personnel on store design and equipment layout, making revisions as required and directing architects accordingly.

Direct the creation of full design plan sets including Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and finishes schedules for complete construction documentation.

Work with utility consultants to ensure all services — gas, water, electricity, Telco and drainage — are confirmed and in place ahead of construction.

Activate and manage tendering processes and prepare detailed project cost estimates.

Purchase equipment, materials, and services in a timely manner consistent with the project programme.

Manage building control requirements as they relate to architectural design, staying current with changes, additions, and regulatory updates.

Review all expenses from external suppliers including architects, mechanical engineers, HVAC and plumbing contractors, and internal functions such as property, marketing, finance, and equipment supply.

Limited travel to sites across Australia as required to oversee project delivery on the ground.

ABOUT YOU

Experienced Project or Design Manager with a background in the delivery of retail, QSR, fast‐casual, or hospitality fitout and construction projects.

Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (architecture, construction management, engineering, or similar). Substantial industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic, fast‐paced environment with shifting priorities.

Strong relationship builder — comfortable working across internal teams, franchise partners, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.

Meticulous with documentation, record‐keeping, and project communication.

Experienced in engaging and managing shopfitting contractors for greenfield, refurbishment, and maintenance works.

Organised, methodical, and confident managing multiple reporting streams at once.

Proficient in MS Office, Asana, and Claude.ai for day‐to‐day project management, collaboration, and reporting.

Willing and able to travel throughout Australia as project demands require.

Willing to embrace change.

WHAT WE OFFER

We look after our people. Here's what you can expect:

* Modern, well‐equipped office with onsite parking
* Flexible hours and Work‐from‐Home Fridays
* A day off for your birthday
* Monthly team lunches
