Theatre Nurse – All-Rounder Opportunity | Mackay Base Hospital Are you a skilled and flexible Theatre Nurse looking for your next adventure? We’re currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Grade 5) to join the dynamic team at Mackay Base Hospital for a short-term agency contract. We’re looking for a true all-rounder — someone confident across Anaesthetics, Scrub Scout, and PACU — ready to hit the ground running in a supportive and professional team. The Role: • Location: Mackay Base Hospital • Unit: Operating Theatre • Contract Dates: 21 July 2025 – 26 October 2025 • Roster: Rotating 8- and 10-hour shifts including mornings, afternoons, and nights • Hours: Up to 80 hours per fortnight (overtime paid after 80 hours) ✅ Requirements: Mandatory Experience: • Recent operating theatre nursing experience across multiple disciplines Desirable: • Experience with ieMR system • Prior work with Queensland Health, Mackay HHS, or in similar regional settings Mandatory Competencies: • ALS, Resus, and Triage certificates • BLS • ETEK • Manual handling and patient handling • Infection control • Aggressive behaviour management • Mandatory reporting (child abuse and neglect) • Medications management (QPHS Regulations) Additional Requirements: Successful candidates must be willing to undertake: • ieMR training • Online induction • Other mandatory training as required by Mackay HHS Benefits: • Attractive agency pay rates • Accommodation provided • Travel assistance available If you're a capable and adaptable Theatre Nurse with a passion for perioperative care and a sense of adventure, we want to hear from you!
