Overview:
The Senior Epidemiologist, Registry Functions will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of relevant actions within the following:
* The Mental Health Services Plan
* The Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Initiative
* The Suicide Prevention Act 2021 (The Act)
* The South Australian Suicide Prevention Plan The Plan)
* The Department for Health and Wellbeing Suicide Prevention Action Plan (SPAP 'Compassion, Connection, Hope and Care'.
This senior role will support the management of multiple complex data assets and undertake statistical analysis of public health data, provide quality assurance, epidemiological design of the South Australian Suicide Registry (SASR), outcome monitoring, risk management, continuous improvement and resolution of ethical issues
The Epidemiologist contributes to the management, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes of the SASR within the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist,
The role is also responsible for undertaking the statistical analysis and reporting of suicide related data within the SASR, preparing a range of routine and ad-hoc reports and recommendations on patterns of suicide related data.
The Epidemiologist works collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including coding teams, data notifiers and state and national agencies for the collection, continuous improvement and reporting of data held within the SASR.
