ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Partner - Capital to lead strategic procurement across Melbourne Park’s capital works and infrastructure services portfolio. This role is critical to delivering value-for-money outcomes, managing procurement risk and ensuring compliance across complex, high-value procurement activities.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, with a dotted line to the Director of Infrastructure, the Senior Procurement Partner - Capital, will develop and implement category strategies for focused and leveraged spend, lead major tendering activities, manage State Purchasing Contracts and Melbourne Park-wide purchasing agreements, and support the uplift of procurement capability across the organisation.
This role requires strong commercial judgement, stakeholder leadership and deep expertise in construction and infrastructure procurement within a regulated environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Procurement & Category Management Develop and implement category strategies for focused and leveraged spend, with a primary focus on capital works construction and infrastructure services
Tendering & Sourcing Lead end-to-end sourcing and tendering activities, ensuring compliance with policy, frameworks and legislative requirements
Contract Negotiation & Management Lead and participate in contract negotiations to achieve optimal commercial outcomesProvide subject matter expertise in Australian Standard (AS Suite) construction contracts
Procurement Planning & Analytics Develop, maintain and report on Melbourne Park’s Forward Procurement Plan and procurement pipeline using data analytics
Stakeholder Advisory & Capability Building Provide procurement and contract management advice to business buyers, including guidance on preferred market strategies and compliance obligations
Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversee compliance with Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) requirements and mandatory State Purchasing ContractsSupport procurement complexity assessments and procurement risk management activities
Purchasing Agreements & Panels Manage Melbourne Park-wide purchasing agreements and panel arrangements
Continuous ImprovementDrive continuous improvement across procurement frameworks, processes, tools and templates
ABOUT YOU You are a commercially astute procurement professional with strong experience in capital works and infrastructure procurement. You bring a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a complex stakeholder environment.
You have:Extensive experience with Australian Standard (AS Suite) construction contract formsProven contract negotiation experience within construction and/or infrastructure categoriesDemonstrated experience developing and implementing procurement and category strategiesStrong understanding of procurement risk, compliance and construction law principlesExcellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skillsRelevant tertiary qualification in business, construction, infrastructure, project management or equivalent experience
Advantageous but not essential: Understanding of Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) supply policiesExperience developing Category Management Plans with stakeholder collaboration
