Job Description
**The Role**
As a **Legal Assistant** at St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, you will provide timely administrative support to our Legal team, operating within the broader Governance and Risk team. You will bring your previous Legal Assistant experience and proactive approach to support the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver clerical support services in a professional and timely manner.
- Board and committee support
- Manage required databases and systems including general file management
- Preparation of governance/legal reports and records, including board and committee support.
- Update and maintain required SharePoint pages and document library, ensuring all required information and resources are available for internal use.
- Provision of financial support tasks including processing of invoices, credit card management, receipt reconciliations and purchase orders.
- Provision of information to key stakeholders including reporting, distribution of documents, and preparation of documentation, in conjunction with the broader legal team.
- Review and inform established work practices, ensuring internal procedures reflect best practice and enable efficient and timely delivery of services.
- General administrative support services including management of outgoing and incoming mail, filing, scanning, photocopying, travel and accommodation arrangements, as directed.
- Support project work initiatives to support the delivery of Legal, Governance and Risk functions.
The role is being offered on a **permanent full-time** basis, based in our State Administration Office in **South Brisbane**.
Desired Skills and Experience
**About You**
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant supporting a diverse in-house legal team.
- Experience working in Property/Leasing, Insurance and/or Wills & Estates in an administrative/assistant capacity would be advantageous.
- Professional demeanour including the ability to work with a diverse range of key stakeholders and build rapport
- Computer literacy including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Personal aptitude for attention to detail and data accuracy.
