Intern Program 2026/2027 - Mechanical Engineer – Gladstone, QLD. Start your career as an Intern Mechanical Engineer in Gladstone, working at Yarwun Refinery or Boyne Smelter. This 12-week Summer Internship provides hands-on experience, with the potential to secure a graduate position upon completion.
What you will do
* Learn how a refinery or smelter operates day to day.
* Work alongside experienced engineers.
* Contribute to improving processes that run around the clock.
Who we are looking for
* Students in their penultimate year or in 2nd or 3rd year studying an Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree.
* Interested in early exposure to complex, large-scale processing environments.
Where you will be working
* Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) – Australia's second largest aluminium smelter, located near Gladstone.
* Yarwun Alumina Refinery – located near Gladstone, processing bauxite and producing alumina.
