Key Accountabilities
Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team.
Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities.
Maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses.
Attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
Contribute to upkeep, hygiene, maintenance, and repair of station facilities.
Assist with incident reporting and general station administration.
Promote a positive team approach in all work activities.
Comply with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers and the community.
Adhere to organisational health principles and procedures to create a safe and healthy work environment.
Additional Responsibilities
Commit to attending incident and emergency calls : 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours; or 30% as a shift worker (non-routine hours).
Obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment, at own expense.
Participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid / emergency care.
Comply with QFES policies and procedures including code of conduct, safety and personal presentation standards.
