Overview
Alfred Health is seeking a part time Specialist in Chemical Pathology based at Western Health (new Footscray Hospital). The Chemical Pathology unit provides routine diagnostic services including urgent biochemistry, endocrinology, therapeutic drug monitoring and point-of-care services. The successful applicant will be primarily involved in the day-to-day operations of the Chemical Pathology laboratories at NFH and Sunshine Hospitals, and point-of-care services at peripheral hospital and medical sites. They will work with current medical and scientific staff to ensure high level patient care, maintenance of quality and performance standards, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day operations of Chemical Pathology laboratories at NFH and Sunshine Hospitals and point-of-care services.
- Collaborate with medical and scientific staff to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Legally qualified practitioner registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (or equivalent) with Chemical Pathology specialization.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Chemical Pathology.
- Meet Alfred Health credentialing and scope requirements for Chemical Pathology.
