We are seeking an experienced environmental professional to manage the delivery of our Environmental Offsets Land Strategy and broader environmental programs.
As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful management and execution of the Council's Environmental Offsets Land Strategy. This role is crucial to advancing our commitment to environmental sustainability, guiding the strategy from planning through to implementation.
You will collaborate with stakeholders and manage a portfolio of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and that we meet our environmental conservation goals.
* Responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Council's Environmental Offsets Land Strategy and the implementation of the Environmental Offsets Program.
* Liaise with State and Federal Government Departments and agencies in relation to the refinement of the Council's Environmental Offset Program.
* Undertake short-, medium- and long-term planning for Environmental Offset land requirements.
* Support initiatives for building market capacity to support the Council with the delivery of Environmental Offsets projects.
* Develop, monitor and manage the Environmental Offsets Program Management Plan (EOPMP) including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:
* A tertiary qualification and significant practical experience in environmental science, biodiversity, natural resources management, town planning, land resource economics or a related discipline.
* Thorough demonstrated working knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental land offsets requirements.
* Qualification/s in project and/or program management and/or proven experience in implementing and delivering best practice principles in relation to complex infrastructure or land management programs.
* Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups to deliver optimal project outcomes.
* Understanding of Queensland Local Government structures, processes, legislation and requirements.
