About the Role
Forensicare's Regional Forensic Mental Health teams operate in 3 metropolitan and 5 regional/rural regions providing primary, secondary and tertiary consultation, shared care and reports; case management of forensic patients on extended leave from Thomas Embling Hospital; community-based assessment and treatment; and supervision of people on non-custodial supervision orders.
A multidisciplinary team will provide services targeted to people aged 18 and over who are:
* at risk of offending or who are currently exhibiting offending behaviours, including violence and aggression in AMHWS inpatient and other settings
* Exiting Thomas Embling Hospital or prisons
* Presenting to courts, or on court-based orders such as non-custodial supervision orders.
As the Senior Clinician you will:
* Proactively develop links with other mental health and social support services who provide services required to meet the needs of consumers and/or require forensic mental health support.
* Contribute to consumer risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
* Provide case management on a shared care basis and support Forensicare's Community Transition and Treatment Program in the case management of consumers on extended care from Thomas Embling Hospital.
* Support people transitioning from prisons to the region
About You:
* This is a multidisciplinary opportunity requiring possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
* Experience working in forensic mental health including forensic mental health risk assessment, care planning and service delivery.
* Demonstrated minimum 5-year post registration mental health experience.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments and to plan, implement and evaluate clinical interventions.
* Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and person-centred and family/carer inclusive care, incorporating consumer and family and carer perspectives into service delivery at both and individual and organisms wide level.
