We are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the opening and closing of the workshop, ensuring a smooth operational process.
* Utilize diagnostic skills to accurately assess vehicles and repair issues efficiently.
* Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components to identify and repair mechanical problems.
* Provide customers with detailed estimates for repairs and replacements, obtaining signature approval before commencing work.
* Repair vehicles based on diagnosed issues and repair estimates, ensuring high-quality results.
* Perform routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, filter replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks, while advising customers on emerging concerns.
* Fitting, balancing, and repairing tires.
* Conduct roadworthy inspections and assist in necessary checks.
* Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure mechanical soundness and detect any potential issues.
* Describe the vehicle's condition to customers and address follow-up questions.
* Maintain accurate documentation for each repair.
* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Australian recognized trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
* At least 1 year of relevant experience.
* Diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
* Effective communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current driver's license.
* Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and machinery.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
* Effective time management.
