Overview
As the Senior Software Engineer for Scout Motors’ digital products, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of software from concept to deployment. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions that meet customer needs. The digital portfolio includes mobile and desktop applications, vehicle connectivity, mapping services, production, inventory and planning optimization, servicing and repairs, and more. You will be hands-on and also act as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers.

* Work with engineers and technical leaders to ship interoperable products and systems that manage customer interactions inside and outside of the vehicle
* Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems for scalability, reliability, and performance
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications
* Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
* Mentor and coach junior team members to help them grow and succeed
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve our development process
* Be responsible for services owned by your team, ensuring 24/7 on-call coverage
* This role is remote within the United States and not eligible for remote work in New York City
* Occasional attendance in office and in-person meetings/events; occasional travel to participate in company events
What you’ll bring

* Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
* Experience: 5+ years in software development, with a focus on back-end technologies
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication to articulate technical concepts
* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
* Proficiency: One of Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby
* Databases: Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
* Identity management and authentication: Experience with systems like Azure AD, AWS Cognito, LDAP, Okta, Keycloak
* Software architecture: Strong understanding of architecture, design patterns, and best practices
* Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting and ability to craft elegant solutions
* Optional: Prior automotive/manufacturing experience; hands-on AWS development with Go and/or Python; full-stack development

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position with base salary and potential annual performance bonus. Final salary offered will reflect candidate skills and experience. The annual bonus is preset and not candidate-dependent.
Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
Initial California Base Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00
Internal leveling code: IC9
