The Glenelg Public House is looking for a confident, driven Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen and be a key part of what we're building here.
This is not a production kitchen. This is a craft kitchen built on produce, fire, technique and flavour, and we need someone who takes that seriously.
We cook with intent, premium steaks, seasonal vegetables, handmade elements, and food that feels generous, honest and refined without being fussy. You'll work closely with our Head Chef (Drew Wilson) to keep the standard high and the team sharp.

The Role
* Support the Head Chef in leading and managing the kitchen team
* Run service with confidence and consistency
* Drive prep standards, systems and section ownership across the kitchen
* Contribute to menu development, specials and seasonal changes
* Mentor and develop apprentices and junior chefs
* Oversee food safety, stock control, ordering and waste management
* Help maintain a calm, positive and professional kitchen culture
* Step up and run the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
What We're Looking For
* 3+ years experience in a quality restaurant kitchen, with supervisory experience
* Strong technique and a genuine passion for produce-driven cooking
* Natural leadership, calm, clear, consistent and respectful
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Reliable, team-focused and ready to take ownership
* Someone who wants to grow into a Head Chef role
