Taboon is a vibrant Restaurant/Cafe serving modern Middle Eastern flavours in a fast-paced, friendly environment. We pride ourselves on fresh ingredients and traditional recipes served with modern speed. We are looking for an energetic Short Order Cook to join our kitchen team for immediate start.
The Role
As our Short Order Cook, you will be the engine of our kitchen during busy lunch and dinner rushes. You'll be responsible for preparing a variety of made-to-order dishes with speed, precision, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Rapid Service: Prepare and cook menu items quickly, including grilled meats, falafel, pita pockets, salads
* Station Management: Expertly operate the grill, deep fryer, and stone pizza oven while managing multiple tickets simultaneously.
* Food Prep: Carry out simple daily prep
* Quality Control: Ensure every plate meets our standards for authentic taste, portion control, and attractive presentation.
* Cleanliness: Maintain a spotless and organized workstation in compliance with 2026 food safety and hygiene regulations.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume cafe/restaurant or short order environment.
* Cuisine Knowledge: Familiarity with Middle Eastern ingredients and cooking techniques an advantage.
* Efficiency: Ability to stay calm and move fast during high-pressure peak periods.
* Team Player: Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff.
* Reliability: A punctual professional who is available for Wednesday to Saturday Lunch & Dinner Shifts
