Its portfolio includes 3,000 parks and reserves, covering 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass and 70 per cent of its coastline. About the role Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Director, Legal, Risk and Assurance has overall accountability for legal services, risk management and assurance across the organisation. This is a senior leadership role, with a significant focus on building capability, strengthening governance and lifting standards. Leading the Directorate through change, you will establish clear frameworks for integrity, risk and assurance, modernise governance processes and create effective, fit-for-purpose ways of working. The Director will oversee all legal matters, enterprise risk, internal audit function and business continuity planning. You will provide clear, independent authoritative advice to the Board, Audit and Risk Committee, CEO and executive leadership team. About you You are an experienced executive with a background as a General Counsel, preferably within a government or public sector setting. You bring proven expertise across legal, risk, assurance and integrity frameworks, and have a track record of building and reshaping functions in complex organisations. A decisive leader, you are confident setting direction, making sound judgements and establishing practical governance arrangements. A clear and persuasive communicator you are comfortable engaging with senior leaders, boards and external stakeholders and contributing to constructive challenge when required. As a people leader, you value developing others and creating a team culture that is thoughtful, responsive and commercially aware.
