The Opportunity
The Quality Assurance Officer, under the direction of the Operations Manager, shall provide an efficient, effective, healthy, and safe range of Quality Assurance services for all projects.
This includes reviewing, inputting, and maintaining all Austal Queensland Shipyards quality assurance processes to meet the requirements of both internal and external customers and authorities. You will also ensure the accurate compilation and timely delivery of all required Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) as per client requirements.
What's Involved
* Coordinate, manage, and quality assure project documentation, compliance processes, and stakeholder information to ensure accurate submission and operational integrity.
* Maintain and enhance quality and compliance by reviewing procedures, supporting audits, resolving issues, and driving process improvements.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
* Drive efficiency and continuous improvement within the QA environment by identifying opportunities and guiding the operations team.
* Understand safety, quality, and business requirements to proactively manage risks, escalate issues, and contribute through relevant meetings.
* Ensure product quality meets standards before customer review, foster continuous improvement, eliminate waste, and guide supervisors in coaching and developing their teams.
You'll need
Essential
* Previous QA experience within Defence/Commercial industry or similar
* Experience with Maintenance Operations related to marine/ship repair
* Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
Desirable
* Qualified auditor
* Trade qualification in relevant field
