About The Role
As Pathology Courier you will be responsible for the picking-up and transportation of Pathology Samples Specimens Blood / Blood Products X-rays and Vaccines this could be across Medical Centres Collection Centres Nursing Homes Hospitals and Veterinarian Surgeries for delivery to Laboratories in various locations.
You will be ensuring a safe and efficient process as you manage 30 stops per day playing a crucial part in providing quality health services to the people in our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Pick-up and delivery of Pathology Samples Specimens Blood / Blood Products X-rays Vaccines and clinical waste to and from referring customers
Liaising between Referring Medical Practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer with regards to store orders
Preparation and delivery of reports and stock control in main laboratory
Maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity
Following operating procedure to complete correct specimen coding documentation
Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures Work Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance processes
About You
Valid open Australian drivers license with an excellent driving record
Ability to work various shifts including rostered weekends and public holidays
Great interpersonal skills you will use to liaise with different stakeholders as well as strong written communication skills
Excellent time management skills juggling up to 30 stops per day
Physical capability to be able to handle equipment weighing regularly up to 10kg -15kg
The ability to follow instructions and use initiative to make sound decisions
Previous courier experience is considered highly advantageous
Hold a working with Childrens Check or be willing to obtain one
You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid visa with permission to work
