The Federation of Parents and Citizens Associations of NSW (P&C Federation) is seeking a Communications Manager to lead communications that are clear, credible and member-focused.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-impact organisation with deep roots in public education and a century-long legacy. If you are an exceptional writer who also thinks strategically about how communication builds trust, strengthens engagement and supports advocacy, this role offers a platform to shape how we connect with school communities across NSW. Design capability is desirable (not essential), especially if you enjoy creating clean, effective assets that help messages land.
About the Role
As our Communications Manager, you will:
* Deliver a strategic communications plan aligned to organisational priorities
* Lead member communications across channels, ensuring content is useful, timely and accessible
* Write and edit high-quality content including member updates, stakeholder communications, media content, web copy and speeches
* Shape messaging and brand consistency across campaigns, programs and public communications
* Manage content planning, workflow and production, including coordinating inputs from colleagues and stakeholders
* Support advocacy and engagement campaigns with strong narrative, audience insights and clear calls to action
* Use data and feedback to improve member engagement and communication effectiveness
* Produce or oversee basic design assets (desirable), working with external suppliers on print and content as needed
You Bring
* Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an ability to translate complex issues into clear, audience-centred content
* A thoughtful and strategic approach to communications in a member-based organisation
* Strong judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Experience across digital channels (email, web and social), with confidence managing content calendars
* Design skills in Adobe are desirable
* Experience in the education, non-profit or public sector is an advantage
