Based in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Westmead, you'll join a leading tertiary referral service providing specialist newborn care to Western Sydney and beyond. What you'll be doing

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will function as an expert clinician authorised to practise autonomously and collaboratively within an advanced and extended scope. You will manage and coordinate episodes of neonatal care as a primary provider or key member of the care team.

In your role you will be required to:

* Conduct comprehensive neonatal assessments and apply advanced diagnostic reasoning.
* Prescribe and implement pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
* Lead care planning, integrate evidence into practice and optimise therapeutic outcomes.
* Provide expert consultation, education and clinical leadership across the NICU.
* Evaluate outcomes, drive quality improvement and advocate for safe, family-centred care.

This is a senior clinical leadership role requiring extensive neonatal experience, advanced clinical judgement, prescribing capability and a commitment to evidence-based practice aligned with NMBA Nurse Practitioner standards.

Essential Criteria:

* Registration: Registered as a General Nurse – Division 1 and holds a current practicing certificate authorised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Qualification: Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or equivalent License: 2A

Selection Criteria:

* Registered Nurse with AHPRA and registered to work at an advanced practice level as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA. Or working towards Board-approved NP qualification at Master's level, with a view to endorsement within 24 months.
* Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical neonatal nursing skills including comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex and changing situations.
* Demonstrated understanding of the neonatal care delivery system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research.
* Proven high level knowledge and expertise in complex client centred consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring education, active participation in communities of practice, policy development and quality improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while also working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi service environment.
* Ability to provide clinical leadership, in terms of leading practice, being responsible for leading a service and taking responsibility for the practice of others.
* Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of clinical settings and proven high level of self-efficacy
