About the role
As our Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting our Anaesthetists and ensuring a high standard of service to patients, surgeons, and hospitals. You'll be responsible for coordinating bookings, managing correspondence and maintaining accurate patient records.
This is a varied administrative position that requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to support patients and practitioners alike.
What you'll be doing
 * Liaise with surgeons' rooms, hospitals, and patients to coordinate anaesthetic bookings
 * Prepare and send out patient estimates and accounts
 * Answer phone and email enquiries with professionalism
 * Maintain and update patient records and confidential files accurately
 * Manage theatre lists, daily calendar schedules for multiple Anaesthetists
 * Assist with Medicare and health fund billing using Meditrust software
 * Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations
What we're looking for
 * At least 1-2 years' experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting
 * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional phone manner
 * High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
 * Reliable, punctual and adaptable with a strong work ethic
 * Understanding of Medicare and private health insurance billing
 * Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitivity in a medical environment
