* Base salary will be in the range $143,099 - $164, % Superannuation (Academic Level C)

* Based at our Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital location


About This Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for a Teaching Focused (TF) Senior Lecturer to broaden their teaching impact through leadership at the program, discipline, or equivalent level. The successful candidate will coordinate or lead the work of colleagues in alignment with UQ values and will play an active role in fostering internal and external collaborations. Through these partnerships, they will contribute to the development of others and demonstrate a growing influence on teaching practices, policies, and/or scholarly knowledge.

The Specialty Supervisor will deliver high-quality clinical education relevant to the discipline within the Clinical Unit. Working closely with the Principal Specialty Supervisor, the role supports the integration of learning across all four years of the program and engages specialty-specific hospital and community care clinicians. The Specialty Supervisor will maintain a strong and visible presence in hospital or community care environments and bring a demonstrated academic track record within their specialty.

Key responsibilities will include:

Teaching

* Contribute to student teaching, supervision, assessment, and feedback across all program years to develop clinical competence and professional identity.

* Support Academic Title Holders and clinical colleagues in delivering effective clinical supervision, teaching, assessment, and educational advice.

* Collaborate with the Principal Specialty Supervisor to enhance curriculum design and continuously improve the quality of learning and assessment within the Clinical Unit.

Research

* Maintain an active record of producing quality clinical research outputs consistent with specialty norms as a leading contributor.

About You

* Medical qualification and eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia, with a specialist qualification or

* PhD or equivalent in the disciplinary area, or an appropriate combination of professional and academic service relevant to the field.

* An established profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research in the discipline area.

* Evidence of a substantial senior contribution to quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate and/or professional entry level.

* Expert discipline knowledge and extensive experience in a general or specialist capacity, including evidence of dissemination and adoption of new and innovative clinical techniques.

* National record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences with a developing international profile, in conjunction with evidence of contributing to successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.

* Active participation in the development and continuous innovation of programs, curricula and/or course material in the discipline area.

* Record of supervision of HDR students and/or trainees in speciality training programs.

* A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with demonstrated leadership roles in external activities that foster links within the profession and the relevant specialty, including developing consultancies in speciality areas.
