Associate to the Honourable Justice Nichols Supreme Court of Victoria The Honourable Justice Nichols is seeking a legally qualified person to be her Associate with an expected commencement in June 2026. The date will be confirmed in the application process. Justice Nichols manages and hears a wide range of commercial matters within the Commercial Court, including claims relating to contract, equity, statutory breaches, property disputes, corporations and taxation. As a Judge in charge of the Group Proceedings List, her Honour is engaged in the management and determination of group proceedings involving shareholder, consumer and other commercial matters. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience across the Commercial Court and closely observe the work of judge and counsel. You should have an excellent academic record, very strong research skills, a demonstrated work ethic and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the law. At least one year's post admission experience at a law firm (or similar) is preferred. Duties include: * Undertaking legal research; * Assisting with the production of judgments, papers and presentations including proof-reading and editing; * Performing a wide range of administrative tasks, including managing the demands of a Judge Managed List; * Acting as chambers' first point of contact, liaising with other judges, Court staff, the public, the media and the profession; and * Undertaking the duties of an Associate in Court.
