Maritime Engineering Manager | Defence | PMO | NV1 Required

We are seeking an experienced Maritime Engineering Manager to join a newly established Defence PMO supporting a critical Navy platform undergoing life‐of‐type extension and long‐term sustainment planning.
This is a key leadership role where you will act as a delegated engineering authority, shaping engineering governance, technical assurance, and fleet‐wide sustainment strategy. You will play a central role in ensuring the platform's support system is coherent, compliant, and aligned with Defence engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide engineering leadership across remediation, sustainment, and lifecycle activities
* Exercise delegated Engineering Authority to support program decision‐making
* Lead engineering governance, configuration management, and technical assurance activities
* Oversee fleet‐wide Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) and maintenance optimisation activities
* Define and maintain the Design Baseline for the platform
* Ensure compliance with Defence engineering and configuration management frameworks
* Work closely with PMO leadership and Defence stakeholders to deliver key program milestones
* Develop clear, defensible engineering artefacts to support approvals and governance
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Systems, or equivalent)
* Extensive experience in Defence maritime engineering environments
* Proven experience acting as a delegated engineering authority
* Strong understanding of Defence engineering governance, configuration management, and certification practices
* Experience managing Design Baselines, technical assurance frameworks, and engineering compliance
* Background in Maintenance Task Analysis, sustainment planning, or fleet maintenance optimisation
* Strong leadership experience across multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical briefing capability

* Must hold NV1 Security Clearance
* Onsite role – Perth, Darwin, or Cairns
