Our client is a multi-national consultancy supporting a government agency undertaking a major digital transformation initiative. The team is focused on delivering high-quality, user-centric mobile applications that support public services.
About the role:
We are seeking a Mobile Applications Tech Lead to oversee the development of cross-platform mobile applications using Xamarin and MAUI. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, guiding squads through the full application lifecycle while ensuring alignment with best practices and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert in Xamarin or MAUI mobile development and mobile web/native technologies.
- Lead the technical activities of mobile application development, including design, coding, testing, and implementation.
- Oversee squads to ensure high standards in planning, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to junior developers to build team capability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align development with scope, schedule, and release plans.
- Work with UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly, accessible designs.
- Integrate mobile apps with backend services via RESTful APIs.
- Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and security issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical standards across the organisation.
- Stay current with mobile development trends and tools.
Required Experience:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must reside in or near Brisbane and be available in office at least 3 days per week.
- At least 5 years of experience building Xamarin or MAUI solutions (Forms or Native).
- Proven experience in cross-platform development for iOS and Android.
- Demonstrated leadership of development squads and client-facing technical guidance.
Desired Skills:
- Australian Baseline Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience working with government agencies.
- Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD for mobile applications.
- Proficiency with Git and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- Familiarity with the .NET framework.
What’s on offer?
This is a contract role based in Brisbane, Queensland or Melbourne, Victoria for an asap start till 30 June 2026. The rate is a maximum $170 per hour inclusive of super. You’ll work on impactful public-facing mobile applications in a leadership capacity.
Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include ID and work rights verification, security clearance validation, and other client-requested checks.
