As a Lecturer in Public Policy at the University of Melbourne, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of public policy education and research. You'll contribute to the highly successful Master of Public Policy and Management programme, conduct innovative research, and engage with national and international partners. This role offers you the chance to develop your academic profile within a supportive and diverse community of scholars.
Your responsibilities will include:
Deliver Engaging Teaching: Develop and teach subjects in the Master of Public Policy and Management and potentially undergraduate programmes. Conduct Impactful Research: Produce high-quality publications and secure research grants in public policy and related fields. Supervise Student Research: Guide honours, graduate coursework, and graduate research students in their projects. Foster External Partnerships: Develop engagement links with national and international partners. Contribute to Academic Leadership: Perform administrative tasks and participate in curriculum development.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an outstanding researcher and committed teacher with expertise in public policy and public management, demonstrating a strong potential for producing high-quality publications, securing grants, and delivering innovative teaching.
You also have:
Have a PhD or equivalent qualification in public policy, public administration, or a related field. Possess research interests in areas such as comparative public policy, digital policy, or policy studies in Australia, Asia and the Pacific. Demonstrate excellence in teaching and curriculum development at the graduate level. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders. Show a willingness to engage in intellectual exchange across various theories and perspectives in political science.
