As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal guidance, oversee complex cross-border transactions, and support business growth across Australia, New Zealand, and the APAC region.
The ideal candidate has 8-10 years of legal experience, including 3-5 years within financial services or a related industry, with expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation, and commercial transactions.
1. Provide legal advice and support across corporate, commercial, and structured finance transactions.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including financing, leasing, security, and corporate contracts.
3. Advise senior management on regulatory compliance, litigation matters, and strategic business initiatives.
4. Oversee corporate governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing legal risk, guiding business decisions, and supporting the organisation's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage disputes and litigation, engaging external counsel when required and guiding internal stakeholders on outcomes.
* Collaborate with regional and global legal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality legal support.
* Support new business initiatives and product development, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance.
Essential Qualifications:
* Australian Legal Practising Certificate required.
* Master of Laws (LL.M.) is a plus.
