Your new company
Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) is an industry-owned, industry-led Jobs & Skills Council (JSC) funded by the Department of Employment & Workplace Relations (DEWR). We partner with industry, unions and government across the Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Tourism and Hospitality sectors to identify current and future employment trends and develop solutions that deliver better outcomes for employers, workers, learners, trainers, and educators.
The successful candidate can be based in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra or Melbourne.

Your new role
Lead and conduct applied research on workforce trends, emerging occupations, and training needs.
Analyse and interpret labour-market and training data (e.g., ABS, NCVER, JSA), integrating stakeholder insights into clear recommendations.
Generate high-quality reports and briefings that communicate findings to varied audiences across government and industry.
Oversee and project-manage research and reporting workflows, contributing to multiple concurrent projects from scoping to evaluation.
Inform workforce plans and sector updates, including deep dives into key occupations/segments.
Liaise with industry experts and research organisations to capture current evidence and emerging trends.
Collaborate across SaCSA to embed insights into program and product design.
What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Economics, Policy Research, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience with economic and labour-market topics within national/state policy contexts.
Proven research, analysis, and report-writing skills, communicating to senior (and junior) audiences.
Proficiency in analytical and visualisation tools such as Excel, Python/R, SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Project management capability and comfort balancing multiple priorities.
Robust stakeholder engagement skills: VET sector networks and experience engaging with VET policy (e.g., education/training departments, regulators) are desirable.
