Job Title: Housing/Shelter Support Worker

* We seek a Housing/Shelter Support Worker who can identify clients' problems, needs, and risks, and plan and conduct individual counselling sessions using various techniques.
* They will provide specific basic life skills building in problem areas, advocate for residents, resolve difficult or sensitive issues, respond to medical emergencies, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Key responsibilities include assisting with resident support plan development, developing trusting relationships with residents, performing wellness checks, distributing harm reduction supplies, and participating in cross-agency working groups.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, be able to work independently and show initiative, and have experience working with vulnerable populations. They must be empathetic and understand the importance of providing a non-judgmental and supportive service.
Responsibilities may include:
* Providing crisis intervention and emergency response services.
* Assisting with daily living activities and advocating for clients' rights.
* Collaborating with other agencies and professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
* Maintaining accurate records and reports, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
