Your Role
Here's what you will be doing:
* Assist with Linux administration including troubleshooting, patching, and monitoring under guidance.
* Contribute to automation tasks using shell scripting; exposure to Ansible is a plus.
* Support and learn virtualization concepts and enterprise platforms such as VMware vSphere 7/8.
* Gain exposure to networking, security practices, servers, and storage systems.
* Participate in Kubernetes/containerisation projects alongside senior team members.
* Collaborate with the team on documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
About You
The company is looking for:
* A degree at Honours level in an IT/Engineering discipline, to be obtained by July 2025.
* Less than 12 months post-graduate experience, excluding undergraduate placement/internship experience.
* Australian citizenship and eligibility for baseline security clearance.
* Experience in Java and other scripting languages.
* Experience in Unix and open source development.
* Interest in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.
* Experience creating potential solutions to problems (e.g., Design Thinking or Prototyping).
* Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals and basic shell scripting.
* Familiarity with virtualization concepts.
* General awareness of networking, servers, and IT security.
* Fast learner, curious, motivated to explore new technologies.
* Strong team player with good communication skills.
* Exposure to Ansible or other automation tools.
* Interest in or hands‐on lab work with Kubernetes.
