About the Role
Our Client's Digital Business Division is seeking a proactive and highly skilled Risk Manager to ensure that potential program risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively, thereby safeguarding the program's objectives and benefits realisation.
The risk manager must bring expertise in developing and implementing risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining open communication and accountability across stakeholders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Create and foster a Risk Culture within the program:
o Educate and advocate the importance of good risk articulation, management and mitigation.
* Risk Assessment and Management:
o Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks.
o Develop and implement risk management strategies, registers and plans.
* Program Oversight:
o Oversee the risk management aspects of the program.
o Work closely with all teams to ensure risks are surfaced, treatments are clear and actionable, and controls are put in place and monitored.
o Collaborate with delivery leads and product managers to address and mitigate risks at a team level and an aggregate level.
* Compliance and Governance:
o Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
o Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures.
* Stakeholder Communication and Education:
o Communicate risk management strategies and status to stakeholders.
o Provide training and support to staff on risk management practices.
o Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure cohesive risk management efforts.
* Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Analyse data to identify trends and potential risk factors.
o Prepare detailed reports on risk management activities and present findings to senior management and within governance forums.
Required Skills and Experience
* Strong track record as a Risk Manager for a large scale digital transformational program
* Ability to analyse complex data and identify potential risks.
* Strong problem-solving skills to develop effective risk mitigation strategies
* A proven track record of implementing risk awareness and management across multiple agile and multi-disciplinary teams.
* Familiarity with contemporary risk management software and tools.
* An outstanding communicator that can effectively influence with or without authority
* Ability to present complex information to stakeholders in an understandable manner.
* A down-to-earth approach with excellent people management skills
* A team player that looks to coach and mentor for outstanding results
Due to the nature of this role, this job is open to Australian Citizens only. Candidates who currently hold or able to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances are highly desirable.
