An Education Support Trainee assists teachers in the classroom and give extra attention and support to students with their learning and development. This position provides career pathway opportunities into Education Officer, Disability Support Worker Personal Care Giver and Integration Aide roles.
As part of your apprenticeship or traineeship with AGA you will be required to complete training with a registered training organisation (RTO). AGA will arrange all training requirements and work closely with you to ensure you are progressing in line with your training plan.
The role is 30 hours per week with an expectation to attend block training classes throughout the school holiday periods. The block training is held at our Deer Park facility where classes are conducted to complete units as part of the Certificate III Education Support.

**The key responsibilities for this role include**:
- Assist and participate in activities which improve the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in schools and preschool centres 
- Prepare indoor and outdoor areas for learning or recreational activities 
- Assist in supporting children with intellectual, physical and behaviour difficulties 
- Assist children individually to learn social skills 
- Assist with the preparation of teaching aids 
- Distribute and collect lesson material
**Requirements**:
- Must be an Australian citizen/and or Permanent Resident 
- Commit to Part Time 12 Month traineeship 
- Working With Children check is required for this role 
- Attend accredited RTO/TAFE training (Paid for by AGA) 
- Valuable communications skills 
- Needs to be reliable 
- Able to work with children with special needs 
- Able to work and follow directions well from teachers
