Junior Business Analyst – NSW Trustee and Guardian

* Ongoing full-time vacancy. 35 hours per week.
* Location: This role is based in Sydney (Wynyard) 3 days per week and 2 days working from home.
* Clerk Grade: Level 3/4. Base salary $84,659 p.a. to $92,701 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the team
The Information and Technology team delivers secure, modern, and efficient digital services by maintaining robust technological infrastructure, developing and supporting critical business applications, and leading strategic technology initiatives aligned with the organisation's objectives.   

About the role
The Junior Business Analyst reviews and analyses the organisation's business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements for small to medium development items under the guidance of the Senior Business Analyst.

The role acts as channel of escalation for support tickets from platforms and support, resolving issues where documented or escalating for higher levels of support.

This is an exciting opportunity that will see you:

* Conduct analysis of the existing system and business processes to, identifying key areas for immediate improvement and alignment with long-term modernisation objectives.
* Work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and system improvements that minimise disruption to current operations.
* Produce documentation for requirements, user testing outcomes, and operational guides and communications. Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.
* Monitor and resolve escalated support tickets, escalating where required .
* Conduct support ticket data analysis and reporting to assist with continual system improvement.
* Assist with UAT including test case preparation, defect tracking, and validation that solutions meet documented business requirements.

About you
Application is encouraged if you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

* A fundamental understanding of the software development lifecycle including the role and functions of a business analyst in supporting the successful delivery of development items and initiatives
* Ability to analyse existing systems and business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and assist in translating business needs into clear requirements
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities to produce clear documentation (requirements, user guides, test cases) and effectively liaise between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
* A methodical approach to resolving escalated support tickets, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying system improvements through data analysis
* Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including users, IT teams, and business areas while balancing competing priorities
* Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment under the guidance of the Senior Business Analyst
