What you will do
Primary Purpose
The primary objectives of the Logistics Engineering Technician role are:
1. To work in conjunction with the Logistics Engineers and to provide solution and extend support to Logistics Operations
2. Work in X-functional areas and projects with Logistics Engineers to contribute towards meeting logistics targets whilst ensuring the Volvo core values of Quality, Safety and Environment are understood and represented.
Key Responsibilities
Expertise in particular logistics processes and flows – with understanding of E2E logistics Supply Chain
In-depth knowledge of the Logistics IT systems and work towards synchronize Physical Material flows in the Warehouse with Information flow
VOC guidelines are understood and followed for any improvement or changes
Troubleshooting and performing RCA’s and documenting issues
Identify and implement KAIZEN’s
Promote and implement VPS principles
Understand processes and help them being implemented
Perform audits from time to time to ensure processes are being adhered
Identify and understand business problems and provide systematic end to end solutions addressing the business needs
Identify new and improved way of information flow, aligning with required business way of working
Ensure compliance with VGA’s Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety policies and practices
Promote a safety conscious way of working
Promote and implement VPS principles and the Volvo Operations Concept guidelines
Actively participate in the rollout of Logistics 7 steps within focus improvement areas
Other Responsibilities

• Ensure a culture of safe working and a safe work environment for all staff
• Raise concerns or actively address any health & safety issue identified
• Attend and apply all required safety training
• Follow all instructions given for working safely
• Identify and report all hazards, incidents, injuries & near misses immediately
Risk Management and Compliance
• Manage risk and compliance in area, including ongoing identification of material risks
• Monitor and ensure adequate risk management and compliance processes are in place
• Contribute to strategic risk management and compliance activities, including ongoing risk identification and mitigation
• Ensure that senior management and your team have a good understanding of the material risks
• Implement and monitor controls to manage risk
Who are you?
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Knowledge on MTM (STRIPE) systems is considered a plus
• Strong Microsoft office suite skills required.
• Strong analytical capabilities is a plus
• Experienced working in QlikView /Power BI/ SQL is considered a plus.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of logistics systems, processes, lean manufacturing, and Kaizen.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
