Type: Fixed term, full time day worker with on-call Hours: Up to 76 hours per fortnight Contract: 2 February 2026 – 31 January 2027 Training Time: 10 hours paid, protected training per fortnight (pro rata) Salary: Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11: $134,930 – $189,005 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + salary packaging Salary basis: Salary range in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 Registration: General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia Registration/licences: Must remain current and valid at all times during employment Applicants should notify the employer of any changes to registration/licensing status Qualifications

Launceston General Hospital is a tertiary referral and teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Tasmania Medical School. The Cardiology Department services a population of 250,000 in Northern Tasmania and has a busy academic and clinical training program. Staffed by eight cardiologists, the department offers a full range of invasive and non-invasive services. The position is accredited for a full three years of core cardiology training. There are currently two accredited and one non-accredited Advanced Trainees in the department.
