About the role
You will be part of a multidisciplinary manufacturing team operating with a start-up ethos but with the support and resources of a larger corporation.
This role is suited to a talented, hands-on CNC Wood Machinist and involves the operation and maintenance of a range of high-performance manufacturing machinery. You need to be creative, driven and have a desire to succeed when presented with challenges outside your current knowledge base. A strong practical and theoretical background is essential together with a good work ethic.
Skills and experience Required
* Certificate III or equivalent or 3 Years work experience
* Demonstrated experience of \"hands on\" projects
* Experience following a defined workflow process
* Experience in understanding and operating high-end CNC, Edgebanding, Cutting and Materials Storage Systems technologies
Job Role
* Understanding and following work orders to determine specifications
* Determining tooling and machine requirements and sequence of operations
* Setting up woodworking machines correct cutting and edging
* Operating machines to cut, edge, trim and finish work pieces
* Fabrication experience including Machining / Saw Operation / Edgebanding / Material Storage
* Proven experience in manufacturing or a related industry environment with a focus on production and maintenance
* Programming of machine algorithms and SPS programming
* Work within the service team and promote technical skills and quality orientation within that team
* Assess skill gaps and develop and initiate training opportunities and monitor training benefits
* Well-developed technical writing and communication skills
* A track record of adhering to safety and standards, with a strong analytical eye for detail with ability to understand change management and process improvement
* Ability to work unsupervised as well as a team player
* High attention to detail and drive to finish work tasks to completion and to a very high standard
* Supporting production by resolving technical issues as required and actively providing constructive technical feedback and recommendations to ensure robust, manufacturable products.
* Completing process validation activities and documentation
* Identifying and implement GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Six-Sigma LEAN improvement actions
Key Incumbent requirements:
* Ideally you have worked in the manufacturing industry
* Approx. 1-2 yrs+ experience as a CNC Wood Machinist
* A recognised problem solver, with a track record of success using a structured approach
* Experienced with design, manufacturing / business process development
* Good communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
* A history of taking accountability for objectives and their outcomes
* Demonstrated experience working within a Quality Management system
* Experience in working within Production Management system
* A responsible attitude to working safely and building the safety culture.
* A commitment to lifelong learning and development.
