Senior Technician – Concrete and Civil Engineering — Kingston Business School. This is a full-time, permanent role based at Penrhyn Road. Salary from £39,407 to £43,835 per annum.

Responsibilities
- Support practical lab sessions, research projects, and consultancy activities.
- Manage state-of-the-art lab facilities, ensuring smooth operation and delivery of technical excellence.
- Oversee multiple student groups and sessions, particularly during peak periods, with adequate supervision and support.
- Uphold rigorous safety standards, maintain equipment, and ensure PPE compliance to safeguard all users.
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment to prevent downtime.
- Assist with experiment setups, manage data acquisition systems, and provide expert technical guidance for high-quality research outputs.
- Drive innovation by introducing techniques and methodologies to improve lab practices for teaching and research.
- Forklift driving experience is preferable.
The Person
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and robust organizational ability to plan and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and maintain accurate records.
- Reasonable IT skills with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Requirements & Context
- Permanent, full-time appointment within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & the Environment, providing support to the School/Function: Faculty General (ECE).
- Location: Penrhyn Road; Actual hours: 37 per week.
